Regional Labour Markets

The future of work is changing as a result of digitalization, globalization and ageing. This has enormous consequences for the regional economy and especially for the regional labour market. The labour market is by definition a regional market because of the limitation of the daily commuting distance, the impact of institutions that causes differences in regional opportunities and outcomes, and the governance of labour market policy. Our research in this topic area deals with re-integration of unemployed, skills and job polarization, talent-development, lifelong learning and spatial interactions between and within regional labour markets through migration and commuting.
