China Scholarship Council (CSC) Chinese students who seek admission to our PhD porgramme with a CSC scholarship have to submit their application before January 1st, 2023. Applying for an open PhD position funded by the RUG
PhD candidates for positions funded by the RUG are considered employees of the University of Groningen and receive a starting salary of approximately 2500 euro (gross). This salary increases yearly to achieve the final salary of approximately 3200 euro (gross). PhD candidates are expected to contribute to teaching or research. PhD candidates are expected to contribute to teaching for about 15% of their time.
The recruitment procedure for the positions funded by FEB starts every year around February and during a period of three weeks candidates can submit their application. The application package usually consists of the application form, a motivation letter including the outline of a research proposal, a copy of the diploma and passport, an English proficiency test and an overview of grades.
Applying for a PhD position with your own funding
FEB also has an increasing number of PhD candidates with a scholarship from another organisation, like the CSC, LPDP or another university abroad. Admission of these candidates is based on the quality of their cv and the research proposal. For further information, contact Rina Koning.
