Title: TIMER 3.1 and the Energy System Investments: Comparing TIMER Energy Investment with the World Historic Energy Investment, 2000-2016
By: Hsing-Hsuan Chen, MSc EES student
Summary:
For the purpose of studying the influences of anthropogenic CO2 on global climate, many systematic models are advanced with times to predict the environmental consequences of human activities. Integrated Model to Access the Global Environment(IMAGE) is one of the models developed by PBL (Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency), which aims to simulate the long-term dynamics and impacts of global changes which results from interacting social-economic and environmental factors. During my internship at PBL, the differences between the historical energy investment and the TIMER model results from 2000 to 2015 were analysed, the main interacting factors for energy investment were found out from the literatures, and the possible improvement were proposed.
