Cryogenic electron microscopy
Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute
The cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) group, headed by Assistant Prof. Alexander Belyy , is part of the Membrane Enzymology group and is embedded in the Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology (GBB) Institute.
The group studies molecular mechanisms of bacterial protein toxins. This interdisciplinary research combines structural data, determined by high-resolution single-particle cryo-EM, with the biochemical analysis of the target proteins.
