Arjan Kortholt wins NVBMB Prize
Dr. Arjan Kortholt of the Groningen Biomolecular Sciences and Biotechnology Institute (GBB) has been awarded the NVBMB Prize. This annual prize goes to a talented biochemist or molecular biologist with several years of postdoc research. Kortholt leads an international consortium that jointly studies Roco proteins in relation to Parkinson disease and translates this research to human cells. Earlier, he was awarded a Vidi grant and a grant by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The jury rated Dr. Kortholt as a biochemist with an excellent track record and international reputation
As part of the prize, Dr. Kortholt will organize a symposium on June 19th in Groningen entitled “G-protein and kinase signaling in Disease”.
