As you may know, Jos Roerdink has become an emeritus professor at the Bernoulli Institute, after almost three decades of research and education in Groningen. In the afternoon of Friday 15 October 2021, Jos will deliver his valedictory speech in the Academy Building of the University of Groningen.

The Valedictory speech will be preceded by a workshop, which will contain three presentations by Alle Meije Wink, Alex Telea, and Jack van Wijk.

These colleagues have known Jos in different professional ways. They will reflect on Data Visualization, Image Processing, and Biomedical Imaging, his main scientific areas of interest.

Everybody is welcome to attend the whole program or part of it.

Following the custom at the University of Groningen, professors do not wear a toga during the Valedictory Speech.

In case the pandemic situation in October does not allow an on-site event, we will inform you in time.
