Title: Dynamics made to measure

Abstract:

Ergodic theory is the branch of mathematics that studies dynamical systems using probabilistic methods. In this talk we discuss the role of invariant measures in ergodic theory and ways to find them. We then show how information on invariant measures can translate to statements on the frequencies of digits in several types of binary expansions of numbers.
