About the school...
Since 1987 the Research School of Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences (BCN) represents and coordinates the neuroscience research of the University of Groningen. Within Groningen, its interdisciplinary research activities are performed at five different faculties: the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), the Faculty of Medical Science/University Medical Center Groningen (FMW/UMCG), the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (GMW), the Faculty of Philosophy (FW) and the Faculty of Arts (LET).
BCN's research mission is to bring together research at different levels, specifications of brain activity at the molecular or cellular level, analyses of physical and mental operations, up to the complex level of information processing. In order to do so we have set up eight collaborative programs which are conducted across our participarting research institutes.
