About Marvelous Mind

The human mind is one of the greatest marvels of the universe. Always more complex than we imagine, it reveals its secrets slowly to those who study it. Yet, these small steps toward better understanding can be incredibly valuable in preventing and treating brain disorders. At the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), clinicians and researchers dedicated to the study of the brain and mind are united within the research school for Behavioural and Cognitive Neurosciences (BCN).

We are eager to share our fascination with the brain and invite the general public to explore some of the secrets we’ve uncovered. Over the next few years, we will organize monthly events for anyone interested in the human mind. These events will take place in Groningen, the Netherlands. We aim to keep the entrance fee affordable and ensure the content is accessible to those without specific knowledge of the mind but with a shared interest in learning more.

Since 2019, and in collaboration with FORUM Groningen, we have hosted Marvelous Mind Movies. These films focus on various aspects of the human mind or specific brain disorders. Each movie is introduced by a scientist specialized in the topic, followed by a discussion of the film.
