Marvelous Mind movies

Marvelous Mind is an initiative by the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and the University of Groningen (RUG), aimed at making the fascinating world of the human mind accessible to a broad audience. The brain is one of the most wondrous and complex systems we know, full of stories, surprises, and mysteries that are still far from fully understood.

Since 2019, Marvelous Mind has been organizing a recurring film series in collaboration with Forum Groningen, with the brain as the central theme. Every few weeks, a film is screened that highlights a specific aspect of the human mind, ranging from consciousness and memory to mental health and neurological disorders. Each screening is introduced by a scientist with expertise in the topic, followed by a post-film discussion with the audience.

By combining science and cinema, Marvelous Mind offers an accessible way to reflect more deeply on the brain and how the human mind works.

Marvelous Mind Movies are organized to inform the general public. The discussions are normally in Dutch and the movies are subtitled in Dutch.
