On 24 February, the final report of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into natural gas extraction in Groningen will be presented to the House of Representatives. This final report reports on an extensive investigation into the decision-making process regarding natural gas extraction, earthquakes, damage settlement and reinforcement in Groningen.

At the Public Academy for Jurisprudence on 9 March, we will zoom in on the creation and outcomes of the report. What are the most important conclusions? What do the outcomes mean for all parties involved? To answer these questions, we will also look back: how did it come to this? How are ongoing legal cases? But above all we look ahead: how do we move forward?

Jeff Biesma, senior judge at the North Netherlands District Court, and Herman Bröring, professor of administrative law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Groningen, will address these questions, among others. Finally, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. The evening will be accompanied by Dagblad van het Noorden reporter Arnoud Bodde.
