Open Access and Open Science
The Faculty of Law has the ambition to make all "short" publications, such as journal articles and annotations to case law, available open access. By 2021, this will already be the case for 85% of these publications.
This is possible at no cost through the method of self-archiving (green open access). The University Library supports you in this process.
In addition, open access publishing of chapters from books, or even entire books, is wholeheartedly encouraged. This usually costs money, there are funds available and/or agreements with publishers.
Various options are available for making research data openly available, such as depositing it in a repository. As a rule, there are no costs involved.
The Open Access Ambassadors of the Faculty, Professor Panos Merkouris and Professor Lorenzo Squintani, will be happy to get you excited about all the possibilities that Open Science offers to you and your research.
Support
Much information and support is offered through the UB's Open Access website.
You can also contact Hester Kamstra directly as Pure coordinator for the Faculty of Law if you have any questions or for support.
