The Groningen Centre for Empirical Legal Research will organize an online seminar on how 'non-traditional' families combine their work and care responsibilities, with a guest form the Tilburg Law School.

Ásta Berglind Verheul is a PhD researcher at the Private, Business and Labour law department of Tilburg Law School. Ásta's PhD research is interdisciplinary and aims to examine how 'non-traditional' families combine their work and care responsibilities in the current global economy. The focus of her research is mainly on working parent families that consist of two mothers with a child/ren, or two fathers with child/ren or single parent families with child/ren under the age of 8. The experiences of how the policies work for these families in practice are gathered through the methods of interviewing and participant observation. This presentation will highlight her experience in doing empirical research within the law school and especially what her ‘fieldwork’ entails.

During the meeting there will be room for questions and discussion.
