LLM Course: International Health Law

Course ‘International Health Law’ as part of LLM International Human Rights Law at University of Groningen

The course ‘International Health Law’ forms part of the LLM in International Human Rights Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen. There is a possibility for external and exchange students to participate in the course (for more information please contact the International Office of the Law Faculty or the course coordinator).

We are witnessing a number of serious challenges in relation to health including a change in disease patterns, some of which are lifestyle-related as well as increasing health inequalities within and between states. Additionally, many countries are struggling with the detrimental health effects of environmental degradation, climate change, international migration, urbanization and internal conflicts. This is affecting the health and wellbeing of individuals worldwide, especially those who are marginalised and disadvantaged. The course 'international health law' focuses on these issues from the perspective of international law and human rights.
