Prof. Edwin Woerdman: 'Define tradable nitrogen rights in the law'

Edwin Woerdman, professor of markets and regulation at the University of Groningen, argues in an interview in the Dagblad van het Noorden for making the implicit trade in nitrogen rights by farmers explicit. Because such transactions are now surrounded by legal uncertainties and slow procedures, Woerdman argues in favor of setting up an efficient trading system with clear rules.
