What is it?
The Buddy Network Law is a social network, organised and supported by the Faculty of Law. It pairs up Dutch and international students with the aim of offering a larger network in the Faculty and in Groningen to students.
After applying online, buddy groups are formed along hobbies and common interests across the different programmes at the Faculty of Law.
In September, at the beginning of block one, there is a kick-off event. At this event, a handbook with guidelines and the basic rules is provided to the buddies. The buddy groups are provided a list of activities as an inspiration, but it is up to them what they decide to do together: pursue a hobby, go on a daytrip or just meet up in the library to study alongside each other.
The Buddy Network Law will also provide all buddies with a guest lecture in which the benefits of networking as a lawyer are discussed. This guest lecture will be in November.
The official framework of the Buddy Network Law ends with a ceremony at the end of block 2. Big buddies will then receive a certificate of participation to confirm their efforts in the Network.
While the activities of the Buddy Network Law are running, buddies may turn for support to the two Faculty coordinators: Rozemarijn Post and Márta Gerbershagen.
