Ruven Fleming gave a speech on European Shale Gas Regulation at this year`s SPE Offshore Europe Conference
Ruven Fleming recently delivered a presentation at SPE Offshore Europe, one of the world's largest technical conference and exhibitions for the offshore E&P industry, that took place from 5-8 September in Aberdeen, UK.
His talk was titled `Towards Reasonable European Shale Gas Regulation - the European Commission`s 2014 Recommendation and Communication on Shale Gas Extraction` and discussed recent developments in shale gas regulation at EU-level. Fleming approved of the newly established Recommendation and Communication as being `steps in the right direction`, since they allow member states to remain in the `driving seat` and to tailor regulatory approaches to their respective needs.
