Admitted trough ‘soft cut’. 2021-2022

Due to the pandemic, it is possible to be admitted to the University of Groningen programmes per 1 September 2021 through the so-called ‘soft cut’. This means that students who have not fully completed their bachelor or pre-master’s programme are already allowed to start their master. The conditions and procedure for both the bachelor and pre-master students are explained below.

Bachelor students

  1. Students who have used the so-called ‘soft cut’ in the academic year 2020-2021 cannot use this regulation again in the academic year 2021-2022.
  2. Your list of courses in Progress (graduation process) has been approved by the Board of Examiners. If this is not the case, please take care of this before 1 June 2021.
  3. You only have to complete courses with a total workload of 15 ECTS maximum of your bachelor programme.
  4. You have successfully completed the bachelor-concluding course unit (Research Colloquium) by the end of the academic year 2020-2021.

Pre-master students

  1. Students who have used the so-called ‘soft cut’ in the academic year 2020-2021 cannot use this regulation again in the academic year 2021-2022.
  2. Your list of courses in Progress (graduation process) has been approved by the Board of Examiners. If this is not the case, please take care of this before 1 June 2021.
  3. You only have to complete courses with a total workload of 15 ECTS maximum of your pre-master programme.
