Dr. C.N.J. de Vey Mestdagh
Dr. Kees de Vey Mestdagh, Associate Professor of Law&ICT, is founder and manager of the Centre for Law & ICT, and member of the executive board of the department of Legal Theory at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Law, a masters degree of Law and a bachelors degree in Psychology. He initiated and implemented the bachelors and masters programmes of Law and ICT at the University of Groningen and participates in the Honoursprogramme of the University of Groningen. He is manager of several research programmes, amongst others in the fields of Internet Governance and Privacy and Intelligent Agents (both funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Fundamental Scientific Research) and in the field of Legal Knowledge Based Systems. He is a honorary member of the Dutch foundation for legal knowledge based systems. His recent research focuses, amongst others, on the Legal Power of Disposal of Embedded data, on the Effectivity of Tracing Cybercrime, on Internet Governance and Policy Networks in the European Union and on the Representation of Inconsistent (perspective bound) Legal Knowledge.
