Prof. Dr. S. Comtois

Suzanne Comtois  is part time visiting professor at the University of Groningen and professor at   the Faculty of Law at the University of Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada), since 1983. She is associate member of the International Academy of Comparative Law and member of the Quebec Bar Association. She served as vice-dean in 1986-1990, 2004-2005 and 2008-2009. She  graduated from the University of  Sherbrooke (LL.L.), the University of  Montréal(LL.M.), and New York University (LL.M.) Law schools. Her teaching and research interests are administrative law (judicial review and administrative tribunals), environmental law and labour law. She has published several articles in Canadian and foreign law reviews and one book entitled : Vers la primauté de l’approche pragmatique et fonctionnelle, Précis du contrôle judiciaire des décisions de fond des organismes administratifs , Éditions Yvon Blais, 2003.

Her current research interests include the relationship between courts and administrative tribunals, agencies and other administrative decision makers. She is also involved in a research project with the Quebec Ministry of Justice on improving access to justice.
