Dimitry Kochenov: 'British citizens in post-Brexit EU treated like any other third country national'

14 February 2017
Prof. Dimitry Kochenov

Prof. Dimitry Kochenov discussed the situation of the British citizens in the EU post-Brexit with the host of the Globalist, the morning talk show of the London-based Monocle radio. Although the UK seems to be afraid of retaliations from the continental Member States after the disgraceful failure of the UK Parliament to guarantee the rights of the EU citizens of non-UK nationality resident in the UK after Brexit, the EU does not know retaliations: the dignity of our law is in non-discrimination. In this sense any British national will be treated exactly the same - and in any case not worse - than any other third country national from a nation without any special agreements with the EU, like a Belarussian or an Indian.
