Dimitry Kochenov on European Parliament elections
25 May 2014
Prof. Dimitry Kochenov (EU Constitutional Law) discussed the European Parliament elections with the anchor of Piatyj ètazh, a prime time BBC Russian weekend radio show on May 25. The claims made are simple: it is the whole point of the EU to limit the excesses of populism to guarantee peace and economic prosperity. In this context it is impossible to speak of any real 'success' of the extreme right (either in the UK or in the Netherlands), given that the far right parties are bound to be marginalized in the European Parliament. The interview (in Russian) starts at 1 hour 04 minutes and is 30 minutes-long.
