Women in Science
On 8 March, we celebrate International Women's Day, a day to celebrate the power of women and call attention to gender equality and women's rights. The 2025 theme is “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
International Women's Day has a long history as a social movement for women's suffrage, better working conditions and gender equality. Today, it remains an important moment to take action against inequality and injustice.
This year, the UG celebrates this day with a special photo series: Women in Science. Women from various fields stand proudly and powerfully in front of photographer Reyer Boxem's camera, showing that solidarity, inclusiveness and diversity in science is something we should (continue to) celebrate.
