Dr. Frank Klont, recently appointed Assistant Professor in the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy (GRIP), was awarded a Veni grant in NWO's prestigious Talent Scheme (domain Applied and Engineering Sciences). He receives the grant for his project ‘Exposure Analytics: molecular evidence of daily-life chemical exposures’.

Humans are exposed to numerous chemicals every day, for example through our food, environment, and potential medical treatments. Exposures are typically studied using questionnaires thereby relying on how well we remember past exposures. This project aims to provide molecular evidence of exposures to better study their impact on health and disease.

Veni

Together with Vidi and Vici, Veni is part of the NWO Talent Programme. Veni is aimed at excellent researchers who have recently obtained their doctorate. Researchers in the Talent Programme are free to submit their own subject for funding. NWO thus encourages curiosity-driven and innovative research.
