Winners PhD Grants Sustainable Society
To stimulate young researchers to work on societal challenges, UG's societal theme Sustainable Society, provided PhDs the opportunity to apply their research proposal for an European or Intercontinental grant up to € 2500,-.
Out of over 50 applications, the jury granted 10 finalists from 6 different faculties! They selected the proposals, which have a close connection to the Sustainable Society theme, which showed the most explicit contribution towards societal challenges and where the grant could make the biggest difference for the project or the applicant.
During the Grant Ceremony on 10 October 2019, 6 PhDs presented their research in a short pitch. All of them are very passionate about working on their societal challenges. The audience awarded the best and most persuasive pitch to Revai Mudzimu. Therefore she received the bonus price of a € 1000,- to visualize her research by a professional designer.
Congratulations to all of the 'Sustainable Society PhD Grants' winners: Jesse van Amelsvoort, Astrid Voorwinden, Arnab Dutta, Lisa Zom, Manon Eikelenboom, Maarten Meijer, Floor Middel, Martijn Blikmans, Adriana Garcia and Revai Mudzimu!
