Video: Religion and Violence
In part two of the video series ‘Mythbusting Religion & Conflict’, Dr Joram Tarusarira will discuss the topic of Religion and Peacebuilding with Naomi O’Leary. Joram Tarusarira works for the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies as assistant professor of Religion, Conflict and Peacebuilding.
In the video, Tarusarira answers questions such as: ‘Is religion one of the causes of violence? Why is religion currently often used to justify violence? And what happens when it turns out there is no religious cause, as with the recent attack in Las Vegas? How can religion help to bring about peace, and what would its role then be exactly?
