Ubbo Emmius Fund nominated for NRC Charity Awards 2017

30 March 2017

The Ubbo Emmius Fund (UEF) of the University of Groningen has been nominated for the NRC Charity Awards 2017.

Since 2011, the NRC (Dutch Newspaper) organizes the NRC Charity Awards, designed to support both large and small charities in reaching existing and new donors, volunteers and ambassadors. This year, the Ubbo Emmius Fund is selected as one of the twenty charities allowed to participate (out of 260 entries).
Students of the Willem de Kooning Academy will develop a campaign for the twenty selected charities. The students will be accompanied by top copywriters and advertisers. From mid-July onwards all designed ads are published in NRC Handelsblad, nrc.next and on www.nrccharityawards.nl and the audience gets a chance to vote for their favorite. In addition, a jury headed by NRC editor Peter Vandermeersch will review all submissions and select three winners.

Other charities that have been selected this year: Dance4life, Daniel den Hoed Stichting, Kenniscentrum voor Kasteel en Buitenplaats, Net4kids, SBNL Natuurfonds, Stichting Afrikaanse Albino’s, Stichting Bite Back, De Dierenbescherming, Stichting foodwatch Nederland, Stichting IMC Weekendschool, Stichting Justdiggit, Stichting Kunstweek, Stichting MS Research, Stichting Seniorenwens, Wildlife Justice Commission, Stichting Zwerfjongeren Nederland, The Hunger Project, Trombosestichting Nederland en VluchtelingenWerk Nederland.
