Research Master's programme Philosophy was judged 'good'

An exceptional achievement
21 September 2015

Our research master Philosophy was judged 'good' by the NVAO (Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie: Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders) and the KNAW (Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences).

The programme scored ‘good’ with respect to two out of three standards: educational environment and assessment and realized end qualifications. The programme was judged 'sufficient' with respect to ‘intended end qualifications’.

This is an exceptional achievement. The qualification ‘good’ is rare and only given if the programme ‘systematically exceeds basic quality in all respects’.

Our research master was the only one judged ‘good’ of all the research master programmes assessed in the humanities in Groningen.

The committee was especially positive about the level of our theses and the clear structure of our programme and indicated that 'the research context offered by the programme is very good to excellent'.
