10th Edition Energy Convention in Groningen

The 10^th edition of the Energy Convention will take place on November 18 and 19. The Energy Convention (former Energy Delta Convention) is a leading international platform for experts and young professionals in the energy sector, organized by Energy Academy Europe. Top-level representatives from research, business and governmental organizations discuss the latest topics in the field of energy. Innovation in Energy & Smart Cities

This 10^th edition focuses on developing new energy solutions and distribution models in order to supply a growing world population. The programme features two themes: “Innovation in Energy” and “Smart Cities”. Smart Cities deals with the specific challenges that come with rapidly growing cities by combining various disciplines, from smart grids to spatial sciences. Innovations in Energy takes a broad perspective on innovative ways to handle an ever increasing energy demand, both by decreasing our energy consumption and by uncovering new sustainable energy sources.

Charles Groenhuijsen, renowned correspondent and former anchorman for Dutch television news, will be presenting the conference. He will introduce keynote speakers from institutions such as the Delft University of Technology, GasTerra and the United Nations. Aside from these plenary keynotes, the two tracks “Innovation in Energy” and “Smart Cities” will be discussed in four separate sessions. These sessions include high-profile speakers and representatives from government, research institutes and businesses, ensuring that the latest knowledge and experiences are available and shared.

The Energy Academy Europe hosts several side events during the Energy Convention 2014, focussing on bridging the gap between business and students.
