Edwin Woerdman warns against industry lobby to compromise emissions trading

In an article in Het Financieele Dagblad (October 22, 2014, in Dutch) Associate Professor of Law and Economics Dr Edwin Woerdman argues that the European industry wants to have pliable emission caps. The industry lobbies in favour of so-called 'dynamic allocation' which implies more emission rights when production increases. This is inefficient and conflicts with the intended functioning of the EU emissions trading scheme.
