Saskia Peters appointed Professor of Employment Law

Saskia Susanna Margaretha Peters has been appointed Professor of Employment Law in the Faculty of Law as from 1 September 2013.
Saskia Peters (Amsterdam, 1972) studied Dutch Law at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and graduated in 1996. In 1997, she was appointed lecturer in Social Law at Radboud University Nijmegen, where she started her PhD research. She also worked as a legal consultant and lawyer for AKD in Eindhoven and Amsterdam from 2001 to 2005.
In 2006, Saskia Peters was awarded a PhD by Radboud University Nijmegen for a thesis entitled ‘Verdund sociaal recht. Onderscheid naar ondernemingsomvang bij medezeggenschap, ziekte en ontslag’ [Diluted social law. Company size distinguishing factor in participation, absenteeism and dismissal]. Since 2009, she has worked as an assistant professor of Employment Law and Social Security Law, and coordinator of the Master’s programme in Employment Law, at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
