New Library catalogue: WorldCat Local
https://www.rug.nl/library/smartcat/The University of Groningen Library proudly introduces a brand new service for locating literature: WorldCat Local, containing all printed and electronic works owned by the libraries of the University.
WorldCat Local (WCL) can be found in the Library menu on My University as well as on the public website. Just like in the Catalogue, a search action with WorldCat Local will result in an overview of our books, e-books, journals, e-journals, DVDs, maps, etc. Printed books can still be borrowed in the usual way. In addition, WCL can also locate literature in other libraries, which in most cases you will then be able to borrow via the Inter-Library Loan System (IBL).
WCL thus has more to offer than the Catalogue, including useful options such as easy export to RefWorks and similar applications. Search results can easily be limited to books only or to articles, e-books or peer-reviewed articles only.
Primary gateway
Although the current Catalogue will continue for the time being, WCL should in the long term become the primary gateway to academic information.
Try it!
- We warmly invite you to give WCL a try
- If you have any questions or comments, please send an e-mail to the Library's WorldCat Local Support service: worldcatlocal rug.nl
