Andrej Zwitter made professor by special appointment in International Relations
On 1 May 2012, Andrej Zwitter will become professor by special appointment in International Relations at the Faculty of Law. The chair has been sponsored by the Netherlands Society for International Affairs (NGIZ).
The new professor will teach course units, conduct research and supervise PhD students in the field of International Relations, with particular attention to the interaction between law and politics in international conflict situations. He will join the Political Sciences section of the Department of Legal Theory.
In 2008, Dr A.J. Zwitter joined the Department of International Relations and International Organization of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen.
He has published widely on issues of international law and international security, and has a particular interest in subjects such as humanitarian assistance, human security, terrorism and issues of ethics and morality in international law.
