No trains but buses during spring break
Between Saturday 25 February and Sunday 4 March 2012, work will be carried on the railway between:
- Groningen and Assen
- Groningen, Bad Nieuweschans and Leer
- Groningen and Veendam.
No trains will be running as a result – NS and Arriva will be providing transportation by bus. Passengers should expect travel times that are up to 30-45 minutes longer, depending on their destination.
Buses
NS will deploy a fast shuttle service by bus between Assen and Groningen, with buses 4 times an hour, stopping only at the Transferium in Haren. Passengers to and from the Haren railway station will also be provided a shuttle service between the station and the Transferium.
Arriva will deploy a fast shuttle service by bus between Groningen and Veendam, and between Groningen and Winschoten. Buses making frequent stops between Leer and Winschoten will connect with the fast shuttle service to Groningen. There will also a bus service with frequent stops between Groningen and Veendam/Zuidbroek.
