The research described in this thesis deals with different techniques for implants and crowns, that are used especially for teeth in the aesthetic zone. The usual technique involves three months between the implant and the crown placement, to allow for optimal healing in conditions without crown load. In his research, Laurens den Hartog found that immediate placement of the crown on the implant resulted in equal outcome, as compared to the three months delay. Den Hartog also tested various types of implants. Clinical results and patient satisfaction in the short term were comparable.
