Do you want to see which books you have borrowed or reserved? Go to SmartCat, click Sign in and log in with your UMCG or UG account. Or click on this button:
UMCG employee? Activate your UMCG card as lending card
To use the library, first activate your UMCG card as a borrower's card. You only need to do this once!
Once activated, you can log in with your UMCG account to request articles or books. Not only from the Medical Library of the UMCG, but also from all University of Groningen libraries ánd scientific libraries in the Netherlands or abroad, free of charge.
Where to request?

Request articles via PubMed or another database using the red Get-it! button.
If we have the article in our collection, you will go directly to the PDF.
If we do not have it, you will be given the option to request it from another library. -
Request books in our catalogue SmartCat
No account yet? The first time you log in, you need to register via Set password and enter your user number (the number on the back of your student card or UMCG card which starts with 04...). You wil then receive an e-mail which enables you to choose a password. Students can login in SmartCat with their S-number.
You no longer need to renew your books!
As long as no other borrower needs a book, its loan will be automatically renewed: for staff up to a maximum of 24 times 4 weeks, for students and others to a maximum of 12 times 4 weeks.
Returning
You must return your books if another borrower reserves it or if you have had it in your possession for a year or longer. You will then receive an email from us.
