The one year LLM programme in International Commercial Law covers specialization in (international) commercial law, especially with regard to contracts and subjects of contracts, as well as the solving of (commercial) disputes when needed.

Students will have to participate in six compulsory courses, a compulsory seminar, and a compulsory law in practice module for this programme. Like all masters, this programme is also concluded by writing a Master's thesis, worth 12 ECTS.

A Centre of Expertise consists of a group of researchers with a specific legal knowledge, and the Centre's purpose is to distribute scientific knowledge to stakeholders outside the academic community and organise partnerships with these stakeholders. International Commercial Law
I consider that the high quality education of the University of Groningen has helped me not only to expand my knowledge but also to develop several skills useful for the field of researching and the analysis of cases.
When I was searching for a master, I wanted to find a programme in English specialized in Private Law that could give me an international perspective of this area. I decided to study the LLM in International and Comparative Private Law since I consider that the courses covered by this master are interesting and well structured . In addition, this university was highly recommended by a Peruvian friend who lives in the Netherlands .
I consider that the high quality education of the University of Groningen has helped me not only to expand my knowledge but also to develop several skills useful for the field of researching and the analysis of cases. Furthermore, studying in this university has given me the opportunity to meet international students which whom I had combined personal, professional and academic experiences that have had a positive effect not only in my education but also in my personal formation.
