An institutional plan with PeerJ
The University of Groningen and PeerJ, an open access biomedical publishing platform, entered an agreement. What’s the benefit for UG and UMCG authors?
PeerJ does not offer the 'golden' model of article processing charges but instead a lifetime publishing plan per author. For a one-time fee, researchers can publish in PeerJ for life. The University of Groningen Library has pre-purchased 36 Basic Publication Plans for its authors (also of the University Medical Centre) with PeerJ. This basic plan covers the article processing charges for the first publication and will allow researchers to publish one PeerJ article every subsequent year at no additional costs.
PeerJ is indexed in Web of Science and has had a Q1 impact factor since 2015. Several University of Groningen and UMCG researchers have already found their way to PeerJ, either as author or editor.
