House rules
Study places
All study places in the UB City Centre and UB Zernike are freely accessible, with the exception of the UG-only periods. In these weeks surrounding the exam periods you must reserve a study place upfront (you need your UG or Hanze student number for this).
Please note: in UG-only periods the UB City Centre is accessible for students and staff of the University of Groningen only, see:
Exam periods: UG-only weeks
.
At the UB Zernike, students from both the UG and the Hanze have access in this period. |
-
For the time being, you no longer need to reserve a study place at the UB Zernike during the UG-only period.
House rules
The University Library has the following house rules:
-
Water bottles and coffee cups are permitted throughout the building, with the exception of the Special Collections room
-
You're considerate of your fellow students
-
You leave your study place tidy and clean
The building has study zones and coffee corners, with different rules of conduct for each zone. On your right are some examples of the signage that can be found on the doors in the different zones.
Smoking
The whole University of Groningen is smoke-free! That means it is not allowed to smoke in any UG building - which also applies to the roof terraces of the University Library City Centre!
Moreover, there are smoke-free zones directly around the entrances of the UG buildings.
