Workshop: Securing the Future of Offshore Wind Energy: Digital Twins and Cybersecurity

Are you curious about the intersection of renewable energy and cybersecurity? Join us for an insightful workshop dedicated to the WindCyber project that is funded by the YAG-SER Interdisciplinary Projects incentive fund and executed by three researchers from the University of Groningen (UG): Antonis Vakis (Faculty of Science and Engineering), Evgeni Moyakine (Faculty of Law) and Fadi Mohsen (Faculty of Science and Engineering).

The event, held in the House of Connections, is aimed at bringing together not only UG researchers and external researchers active in the area of sustainable energy solutions and cybersecurity but also other UG staff and students interested in this research topic. During the event, challenges and solutions in securing offshore wind farms and the digital twin technology implemented within them will be discussed and an extensive exchange of insights and skills will be facilitated.

The hybrid workshop (offline/online) will kick off with a general introduction about the WindCyber project, followed by a presentation about the OESTER project and a deep dive into cutting-edge technologies, applicable legal frameworks and cybersecurity measures, presented by leading experts. The event will conclude with a plenary session, discussing the way forward and fostering future collaboration between participants. There will also be plenty of opportunities to network between sessions, so do not miss out.
