Acceleration work around Upgrade Zernikelaan
Now that there are fewer traffic movements on the Zernike Campus Groningen, work on the Upgrade Zernikelaan project can be accelerated. Contractor Oosterhof Holman will be working on the following three sub-areas in the coming weeks:
Work around Duisenberg pond
At the Duisenberg pond, pile driving for the boardwalk will start next week on the northern side. For this purpose a small part of Landleven will be closed off. Bicycle traffic will be briefly diverted via the Zernikeplein. This work will take a maximum of two weeks.
Separation footpath Zernikelaan/Blauwborgje
In connection with the laying of cables and pipelines, the footpath will be closed from 3 April to 22 May 2020. Pedestrians will walk along the cycle path.
Closure half bus lane Zernikelaan
Half a bus lane will be closed from 3 April to 24 April 2020. The bus from Groningen runs via Blauwborgje, ACLO and the Kadijk to the bus junction. The bus from Zernike in the direction of the ring road will remain open.
Work around Zernikeplein
Construction of temporary footpath Zernikeplein
For the purpose of the temporary bus stop a temporary footpath will be constructed on the Zernikeplein. This work will start on Monday 6 April. There will be no nuisance for pedestrians or other traffic.
Closing pond Zernikeplein
For the redevelopment of the Zernikeplein, the pond will be filled with sand. The sand that is released from the demolition of the bus lane will be reused here. This work will start on 7 April.
Work around Zernikelaan North
Cables and pipes Zernikelaan North On the north side of the Zernikelaan the relocation of cables and pipelines will start on Monday 6 April. There is no disruption to traffic.
