Two most cited sociological articles written by Groningen sociologists

Recent research in The American Sociologist of Jerry A. Jacobs, who analysed 140 scientific magazines, shows that from the ten most cited sociological articles in the past five years, two are written by sociologists connected to the University of Groningen: Prof. dr. Tom Snijders and dr. Christian Steglich. In his research, Jacobs used Google Scholar Citation Data to create a top 10 of the most cited sociological articles between 2010 and 2014. Tom Snijders and Christian Steglich appear in first place, with their article Introduction to stochastic actor-based models for network dynamics (681 citations), and in tenth place, as co-authors of the article Dynamic networks and behavior: Separating selection from influence (402 citations).
