PureIMS wins the LIFE Science Innovation Award 2023
During the LIFE Science Conference 2023, held in a packed Forum in Groningen on September 26, the Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy ( GRIP ) spin-off company PureIMS won the LIFE Science Innovation Award. Pure IMS is a company exploiting the highly innovate dry powder inhalation technology that was generated in the GRIP’s department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy led by Dr. Anne de Boer and Prof. Erik Frijlink . The company employs a number of former Phd’s and students from the University of Groningen.
After an exciting competition with XVIVO, Protyon and Griphingo Pharmaceuticals (the last two of which are also GRIP spin-off companies), the prize for the innovation with significant impact in life science and health, originating in the Northern Netherlands, was ultimately awarded to PureIMS.
Focus on innovative inhaled therapies
PureIMS is a clinical stage pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative inhaled therapies, based on its proprietary dry powder inhaler Cyclops™. The focus is on the treatment of systemic and respiratory diseases with significant unmet medical need.

PureIMS also supports pharma/biotech partners, applying the Cyclops™-based inhalation route for their drug of choice.
