Kick-starting seagrass for a climate-proof sea

Seagrasses have all but disappeared throughout the world, but these unique saltwater plants play a vital role in an ecosystem. On the occasion of the World Seagrass Conference this week (17-21 June) in Naples, Italy, the BBC premieres a mini documentary on the seagrass restoration work done byUG scientist Laura Govers.

2.9 million for sustainable management salt marshes Wadden Sea

Prof. Chris Smit (GELIFES) and Prof. Kai Jensen (University of Hamburg) will receive an NWA grant of 2.9 million euros for research that will contribute to sustainable managemnt of the salt marshes of the Wadden Sea.
