Jeanne Peijnenburg's portrait in Senate Chamber
A portrait of Jeanne Peijnenburg was recently added to the gallery of professors in the Senate Chamber of the University of Groningen.

During the Aletta year (150 years ago, Aletta Jacobs became the first Dutch woman to enrol as a student at a university), the University of Groningen draws special attention to diversity within academia.
On the evening of November 1 a new series of twenty portraits of professors at our university was presented. Eleven of them are portraits of female professors. By giving the latter a particularly prominent place, namely in the Senate Chamber, the university wants to underline the fact that it is an institution where both men and women excel in their fields.
Among the portraits is that of our emeritus professor of Theoretical Philosophy, Jeanne Peijnenburg, painted by Tijn Roebroeck (see picture).
