Four researchers from the Faculty of Economics and Business are in the annual Economists Top 40 published in ESB magazine (Economisch Statistische Berichten): Peter Verhoef (position 18), Robert Inklaar (position 29), Bart Los (36) and Gaaitzen de Vries (39).
In addition, Marcel Timmer (on behalf of the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis, at position 22) is also a part-time professor at the RUG. Timmer was appointed as a member of the CPB board in September. The annual ESB Top 40 provides a relative ranking of economists at Dutch universities, based on the publication performance over a period of five years (2013-2017).
