Higher housing prices stimulate expenditure | Master’s thesis by FEB student Lisanne Spiegelaar making national headlines
FEB Master’s student Lisanne Spiegelaar made the national news as the Financieele Dagblad picked up on her Master’s thesis in late August. During her internship at Rabobank, Spiegelaar studied the link between the development of housing prices and consumer expenditure. She concludes that in Amsterdam and in the province of Noord-Holland, an increase in housing prices leads to a significant increase in consumer expenditure.
Spiegelaar’s research project was supervised on behalf of the UG by Prof. Dirk Bezemer.
