Floris Frima | Faces of FEB
The Faculty of Economics and Business is a faculty with great diversity of people. But who are these people? Within the Column ‘Faces of FEB’ we talk to different students of the faculty and give a little peek into the world of the FEB students. This week: Floris Frima, who has just started his Pre-MSc Marketing at FEB.

Could you tell a little bit about yourself?
Yes, of course! I am Floris Frima. I am 25 years old and I just started the Pre-MSc Marketing at FEB.
A Pre-MSc? How did you end up here?
I come from the University of Applied Sciences. Here I did the ‘Sports, Health and Management’ programme. When I nearly finished the programme I knew I wanted to continue studying, but I could not decide on whether I wanted to do the Masters programme of Marketing or HRM. Eventually I chose to go for the Marketing programme, but in order to be able to participate, you need to have followed the one year Pre-MSc Marketing programme. So that’s what I am doing now!
And why did you go for Marketing?
When I was in high school the economical part has always been my favourite. Therefore, when I started my bachelor’s degree, I chose to do the programme ‘Management, Economics and Law’. However, I quickly found out this was not what I liked at all at the time. Therefore, I switched to a programme that combined my main interest ‘Economics’ with my other main interest ‘Sports & Health’. Within this programme I found out that marketing is also a part that I really enjoy, but within that programme it was limited. Therefore, I chose to gain more knowledge on this through the Masters programme.
So it was a real journey ending up here?
Yes!
And how do you like it so far at FEB?
Honestly, I really need to get used to it. Math is a tough subject, but I really like the fact that the university does not have as many contact hours. This enables you to really study on your own.
And besides your study? What do you do?
I hockey a lot!
So you are a real sports fanatic?
Yes, at the moment I hockey at the first team of GHBS within the fourth league. With our team we have to travel throughout the Netherlands for games. Also, at my hockey club GHBS I did a lot of committees. And I gave training to the younger teams at GCHC as well.
Oh really? What kind of committees did you do?
I did the Lustrum committee, where we organized fun activities for all members. Also, we organized a clinic with hockey players from the national dutch team.
Any plans for the future?
First I will focus on finishing the Pre-MSc Marketing as well as the Masters programme.
