General end level requirement

For an equivalent level of the Dutch pre-university diploma (VWO) you will need:

National Senior Certificate (NSC) with:

  • 7 examination courses
  • an overall average result of 70% (the courses Life Orientation and Mathematical Literacy are not included in the calculation of the average result)

and one of the following:

  • 1 Independent Examinations Board (IEB) Advanced Programme Certificate in Mathematics, Physics or English, with a result of at least 55%
  • 1 IEB Further Studies (Certificate) in Mathematics, Physics or English, with a result of at least 55%
