Nobis Cura Futuri (NCF) has (once again) partnered with Yn’e Sinne Farm. This collaboration highlights the importance of responsible food consumption, offers students and staff access to local products, and reflects the core values of Campus Fryslân. We are currently collecting subscriptions for the service, and the partnership cannot move forward without sufficient support. Keep reading to learn more and see if this is could be an option for you!

What is Nobis Cura Futuri?

Nobis Cura Futuri (NCF) has been the official study association of Campus Fryslân since 2020. The name translates to “the care of the future is ours.” Our goal is to enhance student life by offering social and academic activities, networking opportunities, and special initiatives that benefit our members and contribute to the Campus Fryslân community. By focusing on our four main values, that is responsibility, diversity, sustainability, and development, we aim to make a positive impact not only on our campus but also on the wider community.

Introducing Yn’e Sinne Farm

This brings us to our collaboration with Yn’e Sinne Farm. Yn’e Sinne is a local, sustainable farm located in Grou, just 10 kilometres from Leeuwarden. The name translates to “the farm in the sun.” They run a small-scale market garden, growing over 40 varieties of seasonal vegetables and fruits.

Joël van den Broek, founder of, and farmer at, Yn'e Sinne Farm

Yn’e Sinne Farm was founded in 2016 by Joël, who was driven by his passion for growing food and his ambition to change the current food system. After three years of working alone, one of his former clients from a social farm joined him. Three years ago, Kim joined the team, taking responsibility for the back office and marketing. Two years ago, Annika came on board as well, managing the markets and greenhouses. Their most important value is to work with nature, not against it.

As a sustainable and organic farm, they believe their success depends on the quality of the soil. Joël even refers to himself as a "soil farmer." “The healthier the soil is, the more biodiversity it contains, the better our yield will be.” The farm is dedicated to improving the short supply chain of local and organic products in the community, raising awareness about the benefits of eating local and organic, and making it easier for people to reduce their environmental footprint.

Continuing the Collaboration

Two years ago, one of NCF’s active members, a big fan of Yn’e Sinne Farm, played a key role in starting this initiative. Now, we are excited to continue and strengthen this collaboration. “I love that the students of Campus Fryslân are conscious of what they eat and choose local and organic veggies. We want to empower this,” says Kim, co-owner of Yn’e Sinne Farm.

Join the Initiative!

So, how does the initiative work? It’s quite simple! Every Monday, the farm will deliver its harvest shares to Campus Fryslân. These harvest shares, also known as veggie boxes, contain a variety of vegetables from the farm’s garden at an affordable price. In addition to vegetables, the farm also delivers fruits, potatoes, onions, and eggs.

Everyone at Campus Fryslân is welcome to participate in the initiative. We will start deliveries as soon as we have enough subscriptions, so please sign up as soon as possible! You can register for the veggie box using the link below. And don’t forget: there is a special discount for NCF members!

Both Yn’e Sinne Farm and NCF are looking forward to seeing you at the first pickup!
